Logarithms of Nature
Most courses in electrostatics begin by studying the Gauss law and its application to determine the electric fields produced by simple charge distributions. In this chapter, we revisit one of these problems, viz., the field produced by an infinitely long, straight, line of charge with a constant charge density. As usual, we will do it in a slightly different manner compared to the text books and get ourselves all tied up in knots .
