Abstract
According to Education Week, the annual report by the Pew Internet and American Life project found that 95 % of teenagers in the USA are active online, and nearly three out of four children aged 12–17 access the Internet via mobile devices. The underlying implication is that virtual connection is an essential aspect of most students’ lives. Where will these youngsters seek psychological help when they need it now and in the near future, when they become adults? How prepared will they be to speak face to face with a professional when most of their past interactions have occurred online? The same source found that 74 % of respondents in the USA preferred online writing to face-to-face talking.
