Abstract
The first chapter introduces the subject of the book and the objective of the author.A brief description is given of the history and the development of sailing yacht technology. The objective is to provide detailed knowledge of the aero-and hydromechanics of sailing to the dedicated yachtsman, yacht designers and other schooled professionals of sailing technology.
