Abstract

This paper presents an integrated approach to simulate the thermo-elastic behaviour of machine tools—from the CAD geometry data to FE modelling up to the thermo-elastic network model of variable structure that can be run in real time mode. The first part outlines the theoretical aspects of the methodology developed, whereas the second part demonstrates implementation in practice by means of concrete examples.
