Abstract

The preface and Chap. 1 briefly allude to recent initiatives in developing the speciality of Performing Arts Medicine. In the UK, these include the longstanding clinical work of BAPAM (British Association for Performing Arts Medicine) and the more recent Healthier Dancer programme of Dance UK as well as the MSc degree in Performing Arts Medicine at University College, London, now in its fourth year at the time of writing.
