Abstract
Pharmaceutical pricing policies are an important component of the pharmaceutical policy environment given their role in the financial sustainability of the health system. This chapter outlines several key domains of the pharmaceutical policy environment within which pharmaceutical pricing policies exist. Every country has its unique mix of laws, regulations, policies, management strategies and support systems for pharmaceutical products. These guide provisions relating to the manufacturing, importing, marketing, labeling, distribution, prescribing, dispensing, and pricing of pharmaceutical products.
