Abstract

In this paper, we propose a novel fragile block based medical image watermarking technique to produce high quality watermarked medical images, verify the integrity of ROI, accurately detect the tampered blocks inside ROI using both average and variance and recover the original ROI without loss. In the proposed technique, the medical image is segmented into three sets of pixels: ROI, Region of Non Interest (RONI) and border pixels. Later, authentication data along with ROI information is embedded inside border. ROI recovery data is embedded inside RONI. Results of experiments disclose that proposed method produced high quality watermarked medical images, identified the presence of tampers inside ROI with 100% accuracy and recovered the original ROI without any loss.
