Abstract

We consider a finite number of independently vibrating rectangular plates, having a common side. We investigate whether the observation of the total force exerted by the plates at this common side is sufficient for the determination of the complete behaviour of each plate.

Notes

  1. 1.

The subscript y stands for the corresponding partial derivative.

  2. 2.

    We write g ≍ h if there exist two positive constants α, β, independent of the parameters j, k, n, such that α g ≤ h ≤ β g.

  3. 3.

We write more correctly j, k instead of jk for more clarity.
