Abstract
The aim of this chapter is to introduce the notion of tower of counterpoint, which arises from the progressive embedding of a microtonal setup in another by subdividing (and sometimes shifting) tones. We show that there exist infinite towers of counterpoint, and in particular one that contains an isomorphic instance of the classical consonance-dissonance dichotomy.
