Abstract
Cornual pregnancy accounts for 2–4 % of all ectopic pregnancies. Rupture most commonly occurs prior to 12 weeks’ gestation and mortality for undiagnosed condition reaches 2.5 %, which is sevenfold higher than for other ectopic locations. This is most commonly due to catastrophic hemorrhage involving late rupture. The primary mode of diagnosis is three-dimensional ultrasound criteria of diagnosis that consist of < 5 mm myometrial layer surrounding the gestational sac, empty uterine cavity, and less than 1 cm of gestational sac from the edge of the uterine cavity.
