Abstract

We present a power and area efficient AHB slave IP for IEEE 802.15.4 security suite. The full AES-CCM* operations are implemented by the proposed new scheme of reusing only one compact Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) core. Without common low-power optimization such as clock gating, the resulting circuits offer both lower power consumption and smaller die size in 0.13um technology compared to valuable references.
