Marketing Horizons: A 1980's Perspective

Abstract

Catalog shopping is on the increase and may represent a significant problem for retailers in small communities in the form of retail sales leakage. This paper compared catalog shoppers and catalog nonshoppers from a small community in terms of their patronage motives, socioeconomic characteristics, and how they perceived the local shopping conditions. Implications for local retailers and catalog retailers are suggested.
