Black Vs. White Purchasing Power: The South African Market

Abstract

Increasing economic and moral pressures are brought to bear on U.S. firms marketing to/in South Africa. Market entry and withdrawal decisions require adequate information relating to the relative position of White and Non-white households. Hence data on, inter alia, purchasing power, income gaps, differences in standards of living, and minimum subsistence levels are analyzed.
