Abstract
In the post-genomics era, RNAi has rapidly become a powerful reverse genetic tool for elucidating gene function in a wide range of eukaryotes including fungi. In this review, we focus on recent discoveries of RNAi-related biological phenomena in fungi and their underlying molecular mechanisms. In addition, recent advances in RNA-mediated gene silencing technologies and their potential use for functional genomics studies in fungi are discussed.
