Abstract
Conditional expression of a gene of interest is fundamental for elucidating any cellular function of its gene product. To achieve this in the human-pathogenic mould Aspergillus fumigatus, established doxycycline-dependent systems were demonstrated to be highly suitable, therefore supporting the aim to identify virulence determinants of this pathogenic saprobe.
