Abstract

In this paper a novel current source inverter (CSI) based active power filter controlled by a space vector modulation (SVPWM) method is used to limit the peak level power consumption of a pulsed power load. Unlike conventional approaches, the CSI active power filter energy storage is inductor based. The approach to control the CSI is established using two controllers: one to control the AC three phase currents sourced by the electric grid, and the other to control the current on the L i nd inductor of the DC side of the CSI. The DC current controller will produce the reference values that will be further used in αβ space vector modulation, to control the AC currents. Simulation results are presented, and discussed.
