Abstract

This chapter will discuss the key blood products in bleeding patients—platelets, fresh frozen plasma, and cryoprecipitate. Management of massive transfusions will also be covered. Many patients with bleeding disorders will require transfusion of blood products. This chapter will summarize the use of blood products for hemostasis. This chapter will also discuss the art of managing a massive transfusion.
