Abstract
Modules at last! In most books on a similar subject modules appear on the very first pages. And there are good reasons for this. Ring theory and module theory are symbiotic. Many questions about rings can be handled most effectively by using modules. Moreover, sometimes modules seem to be inevitable. In spite of that, we have decided to postpone introducing modules up until now.
