Abstract
The present research analize how the quality of management and the use of knowledge management influence the quality of service provided by state educational institutions in the Zipaquirá district in Colombia.
Considering that management plays a vital role in the education sector, improving quality and efficiency; this research was intended to design a model for knowledge management in public institutions in the municipality of Zipaquirá. The model allowed us to evaluate the quality of their management to facilitate the strengthening of public education, improving the competitiveness and efficiency in this educational institutions.
The model allowed us to identify the most relevant aspects of a quality management system supported by knowledge management for the public education sector.
