Abstract
One in four individuals will develop a mental illness at some point in their lives (World Health Organization 2001). Merriam-Webster Dictionary (2003) defines a mental disorder as a mental or bodily condition marked primarily by sufficient disorganization of personality, mind, and emotions to seriously impair the normal psychological functioning of an individual and is also referred to as mental illness. Among the general population, mental illnesses are believed to arise from a combination of factors, including biological features predisposing one’s vulnerability, as well as social, environmental, interpersonal, and individual aspects.
