15 The Problem of Under-or Oversizing of Total Knee Replacement

  • Chapter

Abstract

Under- or oversizing of either component of total knee replacement (TKR) can lead to early component loosening, instability, soft tissue irritation or overstuffing of joint gaps. All of these complications can cause postoperative persistent pain or stiffness in TKR. This chapter describes the most common problems and delivers solutions in an overview of tables for each TKR component scenario.
