Abstract

There is no easy solution. No “silver bullet.” Alternative energies are not as convenient as fossil fuels, precisely because we travelled the easy road first. Though obvious, it is worth thinking about it: The industrial revolution soared on fossil fuels because they were easier to harness than all the rest.
