Abstract
The number of administrative changes and statutory developments that were introduced and cumulatively contributed to the formation of the governmental reconstruction machinery is examined, namely the physical and non-physical reconstruction machinery. Especially, the investigation of this process of evolution is the object of this chapter. In terms of town and country planning, the significant step in the successive developments in reconstructing Britain after the Second World War was the establishment of the Ministry of Town and Country Planning. This ministry forms the core of the central planning authority institution.
