Abstract
This chapter will begin by describing the ATLAS trigger system. Followed by a description of the design and implementation of a topological jet trigger algorithm based on the contransverse mass kinematic variable. Finally, an overview of studies performed to optimise the ATLAS SUSY group trigger strategy for 2011 and 2012 data taking will be given
