Abstract
A search for \(C\!P\) violation in a sample of \(D^+ \rightarrow K^-K^+\pi ^+\) decays collected at LHCb in 2010 is described. The Dalitz plot of this decay is used in a novel way to improve the sensitivity of the search while retaining good control of systematic effects. This was the first search for \(C\!P\) violation published by the LHCb experiment. No sign of \(C\!P\) violation was found.

The conventions used in the CLEO paper to define asymmetry are different, so the asymmetries in Table II of Ref. [3] have been multiplied by two in order to be comparable with those given above.
