Abstract

This article is devoted to the main stages of life of E. P. Popov (1914–1999), the engineer and the mathematician, the outstanding scientist in the field of mechanics, the theory of automatic control and a robotics, the academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences, the major general, the winner of the state awards of USSR 1949, 1972 and 1984.
