Abstract
Jonathan Dean was born on June 15, 1924 in New York City. He was the oldest of three children, and was raised in Darien, Connecticut until the death of his mother early in his life. His father then moved the family back to New York City, where Dean attended the Riverdale Country School before entering Harvard College at the age of 16.
