Abstract

Energy entering the site as fuel is distributed to end users in different ways: pipelines downstream of the boiler plants may carry thermal energy by means of heating media such as steam, hot water, hot oil, and hot air; alternatively, pipelines may carry natural gas or oil to furnaces and ovens where fuels are burned directly.
