High-Performance Computing on the Intel® Xeon Phi™

Abstract

Intel has lots of experience in integrating software and hardware systems to support high-performance foundational software such as the compiler, debugger, math library, profiler, and others. Under this tradition, MIC is fully supported by Intel’s parallel toolkits. This chapter focuses on the unique methods for the MIC platform that differ from the common ones, since MIC is compatible with the traditional x86 architecture. The Intel debugger (IDB) tool and the profiling tool Intel VTune Amplifier XE are introduced later in the chapter.
