Abstract
The underlying theory and fundamental principles pertaining to electrochemical energy conversion in microfluidic electrochemical cells are described. Sections on electrochemical principles, fluid dynamics, and transport phenomena are included—featuring the essential physicochemical building blocks for design and operation of microfluidic fuel cells and batteries.
