Zusammenfassung

The present data on resistances in bacteria is based on the results of the National Monitoring of Resistances in Animal Pathogens (GERM-Vet), which is conducted by the Federal Office of Consumer Protection and Food Safety (BVL) based on section 77 paragraph 3 of the law on pharmaceutical products (AMG). The GERM-Vet monitoring program investigates nationwide resistances in pathogenic bacteria which were isolated from diseased animals. Since the study 2006/2007 isolates from companion animals have been included in the monitoring. Resistances were evaluated according to the clinical break points set by the CLSI. If this was not possible, MHK90 values were used. Presentation, analysis and evaluation of the data were done differentiating between host species, bacterial species and organ systems.
