Abstract

Various examples relevant to current research in semiconductor physics and spintronics are worked out within the thermoballistic approach. Based on the treatment of homogeneous semiconductors, spin-polarized electron transport in heterostructures involving homogeneous layers of nonmagnetic and magnetic semiconductors is considered.
