Abstract
In this chapter we model a soybean plant under a set of current and potential alternative environmental conditions. We ask and answer the following three key questions: (a) What is the seasonal biomass accumulation by a soybean plant over an average growing season? (b) How does biomass of the plant parts change over the season with different developmental stages? (c) How do changes in leaf assimilation rate under different atmospheric conditions impact growth and final biomass of the whole plant over the season, and does accelerated senescence in an elevated O3 atmosphere impact overall soybean growth?
