Abstract

The basis of impact of energy device (marine main diesel engine) on its environment in terms of energy and exergy is characterized. Types of energy and exergy characterizing the marine main diesel engine are presented. The description of energy and exergy components for the estimation of exergy balance of the main diesel engine is made. A discussion on the compilation of diesel engine exergy balance is presented. Exergy balance is drawn up for two temperatures, corresponding to temperatures in the engine room of the ship in the arctic (25 °C) and tropical (45 °C) conditions.
