Abstract

Evolution of the structure of yttrium bis-phtalocyanine (\(\mathrm{Pc}_{2}\)Y) during high-temperature pyrolysis was investigated by atomic force microscopy (AFM). A phase transition of the crystal structure to an amorphous structure was observed in the temperature range from 750 to \(850\,^{\circ }\)C and the further evolution of the surface topology during pyrolysis at higher temperatures into a porous carbon-based matrix was observed.
