Abstract

Process modelling is a core aspect of BPM. But overemphasis on modelling activities has triggered failure in countless BPM efforts and has given process modelling a negative image. Nonetheless, these models can be of tremendous value when employed correctly. We had an inspiring talk with Prof. Jan vom Brocke, Director of the Institute of Information Systems at the University of Liechtenstein, about leveraging process modelling in BPM.
