Abstract

Observations of the centre of our Galaxy reveal a massive axisymmetric gaseous torus. Similar torus is also a part of the currently widely accepted model of active galactic nuclei. Hence, in Chap. 3 of the thesis, we analyse the gravitational influence of such a structure upon the orbital evolution of an initially thin stellar disc around a supermassive black hole which is embedded in an extended spherical star cluster.
