Proterozoic homocline succeeded by intensely deformed and profusely fossiliferous Tethyan zone; Garbyang Formation of phyllites with crinoidal limestone; Shiala Formation of variegated limestone and shale, containing trilobites, brachiopods, and gastropods; Variegated Silurian with crinoids; Muth Formation of quartzites and some dolomites containing crinoids; Kuling Formation or Productus shale; Chocolate Formation with Ophiceras horizon; Kalapani Formation with Ptychites; Tropites Limestone; Kuti Shales with many ammonites; Kioto Limestone; Laptal Formation containing Belemnites and Pecten; Ferruginous Oolite of Callovian age; Spiti Shales with many cephalopods; Giumal Sandstone with glauconite; Upper Flysch with fucoids; disharmonic folding and back-folding in Tethys Himalaya
Today we need machines and computers in order to produce something we think really worthwhile. In earlier times a piece of clay, a sure hand and a good fire were enough to produce astounding works.
