Abstract

Higher Himalayan crystallines of Kumaun and their continuation in Darchula area; crystalline klippen of Kumaun and those of Bajhang; Parchuni; and Dadeldhura; flat hanging wall of Main Central Thrust to north of Darchula; sedimentary zone of Sirdang and overriding upper crystalline zone of injected gneisses, schists, migmatitic gneisses with lime–silicate bands, quartzites, calc-silicate bands, Budhi Schists, and Garbyang Formation; Dadeldhura klippe of garnet schists, quartzites, phyllites, and gneisses with Dadeldhura Granite.

The basis of the 30 km thick crust, pushed from the northeast, slipped easily forward on the fluid substratum.
