Abstract
Scala is an exciting new language that marries Object Oriented Programming concepts with Functional Programming concepts (and results in something that is more than the sum of its parts). However, understanding how to use the features in the language, the way in which these can be combined together and how they relate to concepts with which you are already familiar is a significant next step in learning Scala.
