Abstract

The extensor tendons of the wrist are all sliding tendons surrounded by synovial sheaths [1, 2]. Consequently, the most common disorders encountered at this level are tenosynovitis and tendon tears [3, 4]. Tenosynovitis is characterized by inflammation of the synovial sheath secondary to acute trauma, repeated microtrauma, infections, or inflammatory disorders (e.g., rheumatoid arthritis, psoriasis).
