Safety Factor Profile Control in a Tokamak

Abstract

Controlled thermonuclear fusion could be a solution to produce sustainable energy, however the control of internal plasma dynamics and radial profiles (1-D distributions) is still in its infancy. This control is likely to be crucial for robust stability and to maintain high-efficiency tokamak operation.
