Abstract
The present paper presents practical and theoretical aspects of the solid state heating and heat treatment of aluminium and aluminium alloys. The analysis contains practical results from the development and production activity of BETE AG. The present paper will emphasize the heat transfer through radiation. These technologies become an increasingly importance due to actual environmental restrictive policies. The present paper will focus on the energy reduction during the (pre)heating respectively the cooling phase (see Fig. 1).
