Abstract

So far, at least eight sites in the Mariana Islands have produced diagnostic early-type thin red-slipped pottery plus radiocarbon dating approximately 1500 B.C. The dating details for each site are reviewed critically, along with consideration of other sites where early dates have been claimed.
