Zusammenfassung

Das klinische und wissenschaftliche Interesse an behandlungsbedürftigen Verhaltensexzessen hat in den letzten Jahren sprunghaft zugenommen. Zu diesen Verhaltensexzessen zählt auch das pathologische Kaufen, das laut Schätzungen weit verbreitet zu sein scheint (Neuner et al. 2005; Koran et al. 2006) und das bei den Betroff enen und ihren Angehörigen en ormen Leidensdruck auslöst. Gleichwohl wird es in der klinischen Praxis noch häufi gübersehen bzw. der Krankheitswert der Verhaltenspathologie angezweifelt. Dabei wurde das Störungsbild bereits Anfang des Jahr hunderts von (1909) als eine Störung der Impulskontrolle beschrieben und als Oniomanie bezeichnet. Systematisch erforscht wird das Phänomen allerdings erst seit den 8oer Jahren. Die klassifikatorische Einteilung ist nach wie vor strittig, was sich auch in der Terminologie widerspiegelt. So werden die Begriff e pathologisches Kaufen, Kaufsucht, Impulskäufe und Kaufzwang meistens synonym verwendet. Im Folgenden wird der derzeitige Kenntnisstand zu psychischer Komorbidität und Behandlungsmöglichkeiten zusammengefasst.
