Zusammenfassung

Pharmakoepidemiologie (WHO 2003) ist grundsätzlich eine Disziplin der Epidemiologie. Diese widmet sich Häuf gkeit, Ursachen und Folgen von Krankheiten und Risikofaktoren auf Ebene der Gesamtbevälkerung oder repräsentativer oder spezif scher Bevölkerungsgruppen. Die Pharmakoepidemiologie hat insbesondere den Arzneimittelverbrauch (drug utilization), unerwünschte Arzneimittelwirkungen (Arzneimittelsicherheit, Pharmakovigilanz) auch im Kontext von Arzneimittelinteraktionen, den Nutzen von Arzneimitteln in der Routineanwendung (ef ectiveness) und die ökonomischen Wirkungen (Pharmakoökonomie) auf Ebene der Gesamtbevölkerung zum Gegenstand. Um die Qualität der Arzneimittelversorgung abzubilden, bedient sich die Pharmakoepidemiologie (drug utilization research) Parametern wie DU 90 % (Anzahl der Wirkstof e, die 90 % der Verordnungen in einer Indikation ausmachen) als Indikator für die Adhärenz an Therapieemp-fehlungen.
