Abstract

A modern school building should be an open, bright and communicative place. It should provide for different learning methods, not only in classrooms of the same size, but also in spaces that can be further divided or linked together, and spaces that open into hallways or other communication channels. The school building must offer outdoor didactic facilities, provide communication possibilities for students and other users, and comprise capacities for informal gatherings and informal learning. The school facilities in which students and teachers spend a lot of time have to respond to various needs — from large group gatherings to quiet privacy.
