Abstract
The major themes the participating locations have been subordinated to in previous Europan competitions, have now been pulled back into the wings. Those imagination-firing mottos that provided a searchlight beam for minutely examining ever different components of European cities that were felt to be in need of clarification, have been superseded, and all the problems the locations pose themselves are now equally welcome.
