Zusammenfassung
Die Blaualgen stellen eine relativ sippenarme Abteilung der Thallophyten dar. Sie besitzen kosmopolitische Verbreitung und leben überwiegend im Süsswasser. Sie fehlen aber auch im Meer nicht gänzlich. Einzelne Arten leben terrestrisch.
