Zusammenfassung
Harzbalsame und Polyphenole wurden intensiv weiterbearbeitet; neu sind viele Etherisch-Öl-Bestandteile, worunter viele Sesquiterpenoide und mehr oder weniger flüchtige Diterpene, manche Triterpene der Oleanan-, Ursan-, Lupan-, Euphan/Tirucallan- und Dammaran-Reihe und verschiedene Secotriterpene. Die in Band III Commsäuren und Canarinsäuren genannten Triterpene wurden durch Karrer (Ergänzungsbände I und II) Commisäuren und Canariumsäure getauft. Bei den Polyphenolen sind interessante Beobachtungen über Flavonoide, Cumarine, Lignane und Neolignane und Gerbstoffbausteine erwähnenswert. Die phytochemische und chemotaxonomische Burseraceenliteratur wurde in jüngster Zeit durch verschiedene Autoren zusammengefaßt (1–4); deshalb genügen hier einige ergänzende Hinweise.
